The Accounting Operations Supervisor supports the day-to-day execution of core accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, and month-end close. This role ensures accuracy, consistency, and strong internal controls while coordinating across accounting processes and supporting system implementation. The Accounting Operations Supervisor reports to the Controller. This is a hands-on role focused on execution and coordination of accounting operations. The position works closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure reliable financial processes. This role is critical to maintaining strong accounting operations during a period of transition and growth, ensuring reliable execution across payroll, billing, and close while supporting system implementation.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for semi-monthly and weekly payroll processing and labor allocations across programs and contracts in WorkDay
- Manage accounts payable and vendor workflows
- Support month-end close execution, including reconciliations and schedules
- Ensure alignment between payroll, billing, and general ledger
- Maintain documentation and support internal controls
- Support audit preparation and compliance activities
- Partner with Business Systems on system implementation (e.g., Workday)
- Supervise and support development of Programs Accountant
- Deliver accurate and timely financial outputs
- Maintain consistency and discipline in accounting processes
- Prioritize execution and follow-through
- Collaborate effectively across teams
- Escalate issues proactively
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5-7 years of accounting or finance operations experience
- Strong experience with payroll, AP, and close processes
- Experience in nonprofit or contract-based environments preferred
- ERP experience (Intacct, Workday, or similar)
