Job Summary:
The Technical Service Applications Engineer is responsible for providing process support and testing of RTV Team products using a variety of mixing, coating, dispensing, and curing equipment. This position is also responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of Shin-Etsu owned mixing, coating, dispensing, and curing equipment that is used to demonstrate products at customer locations and for in house processes development.

- Carry out Technical Service Requests approved by management
- Provide accurate test data from each batch
- Work with supervisor to develop and perform special testing processes requests for use in support of the RTV sales team
- 3D model and print prototypes as needed
- Safely operate all equipment in the Technical Service & Development (TS&D) lab, including but not limited to: Flacktek and Thinky speed mixers, double planetary mixers, Shinegawa (finger) mixer, Instron, heat press, etc.
- Conduct physical testing using tensometer, durometer, rheometers, viscometers, and other pieces of analytical equipment as needed
- Create sales support tools for the sales team/customers to use our materials (sample kits, etc.)
- Maintain and have prepared for immediate shipment all Shin-Etsu owned meter/mix and dispensing equipment that may be used for trials at end users
- Maintain an accurate record of all equipment used for outside trials and their maintenance and use history
- Stay up to date on technology involving spray, coating, dispensing, and curing systems being introduced to the manufacturing market (PVA, Greco, FAI equipment, etc)
- When requested by an RSM, and approved by manager, run appropriate coating, spraying, dispensing, and curing trials in house using in-house equipment
- Report results in Technical Service & Development (TS&D) Report format, noting all testing protocols and results
- Develop positive relationships within the coating, spraying, dispensing, and curing systems manufacturing base to facilitate knowledge sharing and support
- Maintain accurate records of all testing performed and materials used in a library for future reference by other TS&D personnel and the outside sales team
- Consolidate past QC data for customer/sales requests for current production materials
- Travel to manufacturers, customers, and tradeshows to increase knowledge base, facilitate product trials, and demonstrate RTV group products (~15% annually)
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
