Family Group Decision Making Facilitator – Independent Contractor
Looking for candidates in: CHESTER COUNTY, BERKS COUNTY, LEHIGH COUNTY, & DELAWARE COUNTY in Pennsylvania.
Job description/ position summary: (HYBRID: 50% Field, 50% WFH)
The Family Group Decision Facilitator will facilitate effective family meetings involving a family-led decision making process that brings together all individuals concerned with the children’s safety, permanency and well being. The goal of Family Group Decision Making is to prevent foster care placement of youth, to enhance communication of families who are under county supervision, or to reunite families whose children are currently placed in child welfare foster care or juvenile probation settings. The FGDM will provide a neutral third party to families who elect to participate in the program. The FGDM Facilitator is primarily a hybrid position, this position may need to travel in Delaware County, Chester County, and Lehigh County and the surrounding areas to effectively engage all relevant parties in the decision-making process.
** Spanish bilingual capacity is preferred**
Minimum Education and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills Education:
o Master’s degree in Human Services field preferred
o 3 year experience in the child welfare field preferred.
o Experience in facilitating FGDM conferences and/or therapeutic groups.
o Experience in managing rapidly changing family dynamics
o Candidates should have some experience and knowledge of trauma resolution.
o Candidate should have experience working with foster care and relative care out of home placements for children.
o Current Act 33 and Act 34 Clearances
o Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
o Access to an insured, registered vehicle that can be used for employment
o Available to work flexible schedule (weekend hours as scheduled and needed per family & professional request)
o Must have a designated and confidential home or office workspace to conduct virtual family group decision making conferences
o Multiple City/County travel
