The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the electrical installation of equipment in a manufacturing setting, and the repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of plastic production machinery and facility electrical equipment. This includes, building and installing control boxes on new or refurbished equipment, helping the maintenance team solve production maintenance related issues, and may be required to direct the work of contractors who are conducting electrical installation of equipment.
Work Schedule: 3rd Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM Monday Evening - Saturday Morning
Responsibilities
• Reads and interprets blueprints and electrical code specifications and schematics to effectively troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment and defective parts.
• Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, control devices, and equipment.
• Diagnoses, determines cause, and repairs malfunctioning equipment using test equipment.
• Performs required repairs (electrical and/or mechanical)
• Performs preventative maintenance through inspection of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
• Operates forklift and scissor lift, as needed.
• Participates in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes.
• Has a working knowledge of NEC and wiring methods.
• Maintain and correct maintenance records, including inventory, documents, manuals, drawings, etc.
• Supports the RTP quality policy and customer satisfaction mission by minimizing equipment downtime and lost production capacity.
• Follows safety and health guidelines.
• Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent.
