Job Summary
RTF Avionics & Accessories, Inc. is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Aircraft Accessories Mechanic to join our growing repair station on a part-time basis.
The mechanic will be responsible for the inspection, disassembly, repair, assembly, and testing of aircraft accessory components in accordance with applicable Component Maintenance Manuals, technical data, work instructions, and RTF quality procedures.
This position is ideal for someone with aircraft component repair, aviation maintenance, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical experience.
Responsibilities
* Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, assemble, and test aircraft accessories and components
* Perform maintenance in accordance with CMMs, drawings, technical data, work orders, and company procedures
* Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electromechanical components
* Accurately document all inspections, repairs, measurements, parts used, and work performed
* Properly use and maintain hand tools, measuring equipment, test equipment, and shop equipment
* Follow FAA repair station procedures, quality requirements, and safety practices
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
* Communicate repair findings and material requirements to supervisors and inspection personnel
* Perform other related shop duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Previous aircraft accessory, component repair, MRO, aviation maintenance, mechanical, or electrical experience preferred
* Ability to read and understand CMMs, drawings, schematics, work instructions, and technical documentation
* Basic knowledge of hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and test equipment
* Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
* Ability to maintain accurate and complete maintenance records
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to communicate effectively in English
* A&P license is preferred but not required
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
* Ability to use hand tools and perform detailed mechanical work
* Ability to lift and carry components weighing up to approximately 40 pounds
* Ability to safely work around cleaning chemicals, shop equipment, and aircraft components
