This position is responsible for the direct supervision of skilled and unskilled Light Rail Maintenance personnel in the inspection, maintenance, and repair and cleaning of the Light Rail Vehicles. This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to the rules and regulations of the RTD Drug & Alcohol Policy.

This position is responsible for the direct supervision of skilled and unskilled Light Rail Maintenance personnel in the inspection, maintenance, and repair and cleaning of the Light Rail Vehicles. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Recruits staff to include interviewing, hiring, assigning work, training, coaching, and counseling to ensure consistent application of Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures. Conducts performance review, and holds employees accountable for performance of their responsibilities.
- Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs and monitors maintenance activities to ensure quality control and compliance with organizational goals.
- Conducts inspections of work area to ensure clean and safe working conditions.
- Develops, updates and maintains procedures, presentations, bulletins, maintenance manuals and parts manuals.
- Responds to emergencies, accidents, snowstorm support, special event support and special assignments as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- An Associate Degree in electrical technology or a closely related field of study.
- A minimum of three years of experience in electrical, mechanical or hydraulic heavy duty equipment repair.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Certified Electro Mechanic.
- Valid Colorado Class 2 Commercial Driver License or ability to obtain one within 90 days.
- Proficient in electrical safety and safety related rail systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written methods.
- Ability to use sound judgment.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.

- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, moving trains; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; explosives and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
