Position Summary
RTCA, Inc. is seeking a leader with aviation expertise to serve as Director, Stakeholder Engagement and Membership Services.
This leadership position is responsible for strengthening relationships across the aviation industry and proactively driving membership growth and engagement. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience growing membership and increasing membership value, coupled with a strong commitment to our mission and the safety of the global aviation industry.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Growth and Engagement
- Develop and execute strategies to grow, engage and retain RTCA’s membership base
- Create and execute a stakeholder engagement plan that supports membership growth targets
- Analyze industry feedback and organizational data to inform strategic recommendations
- Identify industry opportunities to communicate RTCA membership value and secure new members
- Represent RTCA at aviation industry events, and stakeholder meetings
- Build and maintain strong relationships with aviation partners, regulators, and other stakeholders to support the mission and increase member value
- Monitor aviation matters and adjust products and member offerings to ensure alignment with member needs and unwavering focus on aviation safety
- Track, analyze, and communicate membership growth and engagement outcomes
- Create and execute RTCA’s sponsorship plan
- Utilize an Association Management System (AMS) to create best in class member experiences with product offerings, and support data analytic functions
- Work in partnership with the marketing and communications team to effectively communicate RTCA events and milestones
- Oversee the membership renewal processes and support member inquiries
- Develop KPIs that measure product quality, alignment with member needs, and impact on aviation safety
Product Delivery
- Lead and manage a small team of professionals with responsibility for product delivery, including training and publications
- Lead the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of RTCA’s products, including training, publications, and events
- Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure a best-in-class customer experience
- Identify opportunities to enhance member experience and existing products; develop new offerings aligned with member needs and industry trends
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure products, training, and events align with member needs
Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Business Management, Marketing Communications, or related field
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in the aviation/aerospace industry is strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading effective, productive teams in a customer focused environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement, relationship development, and/or membership growth initiatives
- Experience in a membership environment with a passion for service is essential
- Experience using data analytics to inform growth strategy and elevate members’ experiences
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize activities and adapt to changing member and organizational needs
- Detail-oriented and able to work effectively within a small, collaborative team
- Experience implementing an AMS system is a plus
Work Environment
- Location: Washington, D.C.
- Work Schedule: Hybrid, generally 3 days a week on-site in our Washington, DC office (Relocation Assistance is not available.)
- This position may require domestic and international travel estimated up to 15%
Compensation and Benefits
- The expected pay range for this role is $135,000 to $150,000 per year and will be commensurate with factors such as relevant experience, skills, and qualifications
- RTCA offers a robust benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage with the employer covering 80% of the preferred plan medical premium and 100% of the premium for dental and vision for eligible employees and their dependents
