Safety Companion

RTC Bliss Drive LLC is seeking responsible, patient, and safety-minded individuals to serve as Safety Companions for learner drivers (instruction permit holders) who are preparing to take the Arizona Class D road test. This position supports supervised driving practice in insured company vehicles.

Location: Tempe, Arizona (Daily commute to ASU Tempe campus required)

Work Schedule: Weekends required; Flexible weekday shifts available

Eligibility: U.S. Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) only

• Supervise learner drivers during on-road practice sessions to ensure safety and rule compliance.
• Monitor driving behavior and provide verbal guidance on improving techniques, spatial awareness, and traffic decision-making.
• Help learners understand and apply Arizona traffic laws, road signage, and defensive driving strategies.
• Maintain detailed notes and submit post-session feedback reports for each learner.
• Perform pre-drive vehicle checks for safety and report any issues to the operations team.
• Maintain a calm and professional demeanor, especially during high-stress driving situations.
• Represent RTC Bliss Drive professionally while interacting with students, parents, or guardians.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness and uphold public health safety protocols as needed.

• Must hold a valid Arizona Driver’s License for a minimum of 5 consecutive years with a clean driving record (no major violations, DUIs, or license suspensions).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder and aged 25 (due to insurance and regulatory requirements).
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Familiarity with Arizona driving laws and traffic safety regulations is required.
• Must be able to commute daily to ASU Tempe campus and surrounding areas.
• Must be available to work weekends and flexible hours as assigned.
• Must be patient, empathetic, and able to guide individuals from diverse cultural and language backgrounds.

• Completion of Arizona MVD Traffic Survival School (TSS) or similar traffic safety training (preferred), will be discussed once hired.
• Completion of LinkedIn Learning courses such as “Customer Service,” “Communication Skills,” or “Coaching Others” (optional, but advantageous).
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus but not required.
• Prior experience in education, coaching, mentoring, or rideshare driving is a bonus.

• Must pass a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) screening.
• Must complete RTC Bliss Drive’s onboarding and training program, including liability protocols and incident response after hired.
• Must comply with company insurance guidelines and state vehicle operation standards.
