VP of Operations — RT Western
Northern California (On-site / Hybrid)
RT Western is hiring a VP of Operations to run end-to-end delivery across three divisions at a fast-growing specialty subcontractor.
This is the senior operating role in the company, reporting directly to the CEO and acting as the #2 leader across the business. You will own revenue, gross margin, and execution across 50 active projects and a 25-person team.
What You’ll Own
- Full operational leadership across multiple divisions (Division 8, Final Clean, Division 6/10/12)
- Division-level P&L, project margin, and delivery performance
- Weekly operating cadence across estimation, project management, and field operations
- Staffing decisions, escalation management, and project recovery when needed
- Building and coaching a high-performing leadership bench (Directors ICs)
- Cross-functional alignment with BD, systems/tech, and executive leadership
- Standardizing processes, metrics, and reporting across the business
What We’re Looking For
- 10 years in commercial construction operations
- 5 years in a senior leadership role (VP, COO, GM, or equivalent)
- Experience in a specialty subcontractor environment (Div 8, 6, 10, 12 or adjacent trades preferred)
- Proven track record owning P&L across multiple projects or business units
- Experience managing both high-volume portfolios (50 projects) and more complex builds
- Strong command of estimation, PM, and field operations as an integrated system
- Comfortable with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, and construction ERPs
- Process-driven, data-driven, and highly accountable
