HEAD COOK

We are seeking an energetic and service driven culinary professional to be part of a growing and changing program. This position will prepare and serve both breakfast and lunch to some of our districts youngest students. The head cook will be responsible for food preparation, maintaining a clear and organized work space, doing inventory and ordering. This role also requires clarical duties that pertain to State and Federal compliance for reimbursement. Must be willing to obtain ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, food handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
• Oversee inventory control and management of supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
• Monitor food safety sanitizing procedures to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Maintain excellent communication with other departments.
• Ensure compliance with all health regulations and industry standards related to food safety and school nutrition practices.
• Manage budgets related to food costs and labor while striving for operational efficiency and excellence.

Experience

• Knowledge of food production processes, inventory management, cost control strategies, and kitchen safety protocols.
• Hands-on experience with food preparation techniques.
• Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and health regulations applicable to food service operations.
• Excellent communication skills complemented by a passion for delivering exceptional customer service in a hospitality environment.

Pay: $22.55 - $23.96 per hour
