Senior Power Markets Analyst

Ørsted
Boston, MA Full Time
POSTED ON 4/17/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/16/2026
Join us in this role where you’ll lead the development of power market views and pricing models to support commercial decisions across our Onshore US portfolio. You’ll forecast revenues for renewable assets, contribute to PPA pricing, and track ISO-level market reforms to guide strategic planning and investment. In addition, your deep knowledge of power market fundamentals will help us navigate volatility and maximize value from our portfolio.

You’ll be part of Commercial where you, together with your colleagues, will collaborate across Development, Transmission, Growth, and Trading to deliver data-driven insights and support greenfield siting, revenue modeling, and commercial structuring. Your contributions to power market analysis will inform internal strategies and external partnerships, ensuring our projects are positioned for success within both broader energy and power-specific contexts. You’ll report to the Head of Market & Revenues Analytics and work closely with global and regional stakeholders. As a team, we combine analytical rigor with commercial acumen to drive results and shape the future of clean energy and power markets.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • forecasting electricity and related market inputs for ISO/RTO bidding strategies, and adapting to shifting power market regulations.
  • developing tools and models to evaluate market data, with a special focus on power market structures and pricing mechanisms, to support commercial decisions.
  • maintaining internal price forecasts and leading relationships with external forecasters, ensuring alignment with both energy and power market trends.
  • supporting PPA pricing, revenue modeling, and operating portfolio performance through advanced power market analytics.
  • providing market risk analysis across technologies and geographies, with a strong emphasis on power market volatility and regulatory changes.
  • mentoring junior analysts and contributing to thought leadership in US power markets, while also advancing knowledge in broader energy contexts.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a completed degree in finance, analytics, mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • have experience with US power market structures, protocols, and renewable technologies, and can demonstrate a strong understanding of power market operations.
  • can apply financial mathematics and scripting tools (e.g., Python, APIs) to large datasets, particularly those relevant to power markets.
  • communicate complex quantitative insights clearly to diverse audiences, translating power market data into actionable recommendations.
  • collaborate effectively across functions and geographies in a matrixed environment.
  • bring strong commercial judgment and attention to detail, especially in evaluating power market risks and opportunities.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
