Job Description-
We are looking for a Senior Voice Architect to lead the transformation of our Contact Center infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of legacy Enterprise Telephony (Oracle SBCs, Avaya) and modern Cloud AI (Azure Communication Services, Open AI).
He will be responsible for re-architecting our voice ingestion pipeline to eliminate latency, prevent call drops, and ensure high-fidelity audio delivery to our Real-Time Agent Assist platforms. You will move us away from brittle "Serial Routing" dependencies toward robust, asynchronous SIPREC architectures.
Years of experience :- 10 Years
Roles and Responsibilities :-
1. Architecture & Design (The Fix)
- Lead the migration of voice integration flows from Serial Routing (Hairpinning) to Parallel Media Forking using SIPREC (RFC 7866) to ensure zero-latency customer experiences.
- Design and implement "Sidecar" recording architectures on Oracle Acme Packet SBCs, ensuring that Cloud AI failures never impact active telephony availability.
- Architect high-availability connectivity between On-Premise SIP Trunks and Cloud Endpoints (Azure Communication Services / AWS Chime) using ExpressRoute or Direct Connect.
2. SBC & Network Engineering (The Gear)
- Configure and tune Oracle SBCs (Realm management, Steering Pools, Transcoding resources) to handle burst traffic without DSP exhaustion.
- Write and optimize complex Header Manipulation Rules (HMR) to normalize SIP signaling between Carrier, Avaya, and Cloud environments.
- Manage TLS/SRTP security profiles, ensuring compliant encryption without inducing handshake latency during high-volume call ramp-ups.
3. Audio & Media Optimization
- Troubleshoot complex audio quality issues including Post Dial Delay (PDD), Jitter, and One-Way Audio using deep packet inspection (Wireshark/Empirix).
- Optimize codec negotiation (G.711 vs G.729) to balance bandwidth usage with AI Transcription accuracy (WER).
- Configure "Unmixed Audio" / Stereo Streams to support Speaker Diarization requirements for AI models.
4. Custom Integration (The "Plan B")
- Evaluate and prototype vendor-agnostic media gateways (using Drachtio, FreeSWITCH, or Node.js) to stream raw audio via WebSockets if commercial middleware (ACS) fails to meet latency KPIs.
Must Have:
- SBC Expertise: 5 years of hands-on experience configuring Oracle (Acme Packet) SBCs in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Protocol Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of SIP, SIPREC (RFC 7866), RTP/RTCP, and SDP negotiation.
- Cloud Voice: Proven experience integrating SIP telephony with Azure Communication Services (ACS), Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, or Twilio.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to read raw SIP Ladder Diagrams and identify the root cause of 503 Service Unavailable, 408 Timeout, and 488 Not Acceptable errors.
- Infrastructure: Understanding Network NAT traversal, Firewall "Keep-Alive" mechanisms, and Load Balancing strategies for voice.
- Programmable Voice: Experience building custom voice applications using Node.js, Python, or Go.
- DevOps: Experience deploying voice gateways on Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) or using Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
Good to Have:
- Media Handling: Familiarity with WebSockets, raw PCM audio manipulation, and Jitter Buffer tuning for AI/STT engines.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
