At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $54,000 - $86,900
Responsibilities
- Print and assemble tax returns based on pyramid complexity permission level, utilizing firm software tools based on Route Sheet instructions in workflow tool to ensure all required client deliverables are included in documents saved to document management system and for delivery to external clients. Pyramid permission levels for this role include all return types and requires an appropriate level of professional judgement and understanding of firm standards.
- Using deep understanding of the overall tax return process, takes ownership of the e-file process including monitoring and releasing external client tax returns to the taxing authorities, ensuring correct returns are released and all filing deadlines are timely met. Track for acceptance, transmission errors and rejections and resolve as appropriate. Responsible for meeting client expectations for timeliness, responsiveness, accuracy, and service quality.
- Responsible for tax organizers and scanning of client workpapers, if applicable, tax return delivery, due date tracking via workflow tool, and new client setup, and for meeting client expectations for timeliness, responsiveness, accuracy, and service quality.
- May serve as a knowledge resource or technical champion for a variety of roles including ESS or ECS employees or may serve as lead on projects.
- Assembly, scanning, e- filing, and workflow entry, reporting and due date tracking.
- Provide guidance and training to other TESS members. This individual is developing expertise in a particular return type, process or industry and may begin to a become resource to others in their area of expertise.
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong technical aptitude, able to quickly master a variety of tax software and company tools
- Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently
- Ability to mentor and train less experienced COE members
- Effective organization and time management skills
