The Housekeeping Associate is an essential member of the Gold’s Gym team. They ensure that all areas of the facility—including gym floor, locker rooms, offices, and common spaces—are consistently clean, safe, and welcoming for members. The role includes performing a variety of cleaning duties, maintaining equipment and supplies, and supporting the overall member experience.
Facility Cleaning & Maintenance
Clean outside glass and interior mirrors.
Wipe down equipment, doors, and floors as needed.
Empty trash receptacles daily.
Sweep and mop floors, stairwells, and staircases.
Clean carpets and hard-surface floors as needed.
Clean fitness equipment thoroughly.
Clean bathrooms, including tiles, tubs, walls, sinks, and mirrors.
Dust furniture and fixtures daily.
Clean management offices daily.
Mop and sweep lobby floors.
Locker Room Responsibilities
Sweep, mop, remove trash, and dust locker rooms.
Clean and sanitize restrooms & locker rooms.
Toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors
Showers and floors
Refill soap, paper towels, toilet paper.
Clean out lint and maintain general tidiness.
Buff locker/lobby room floors as needed.
Equipment & Supply Maintenance
Clean Maintain and organize cleaning tools such as mops, brooms, and vacuum cleaners.
Ensure equipment is kept in good condition and stored properly.
Clean vacuum cleaner bags or canisters daily.
Stock carts with linens and supplies, keeping them organized according to training guidelines.
Other Duties
Pick up debris on carpets and perform vacuuming as needed.
Report maintenance or repair issues accurately and promptly.
Collaborate professionally with gym staff and management.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) months’ experience in housekeeping or janitorial services.
Three (3) months’ customer service experience preferred.
Experience in hospitality or health clubs is a plus.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time‑management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Must be able to work as part of a professional and cohesive team.
Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and repetitive motions.
Ability to push/pull cleaning carts and equipment.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, wet or slippery floors, humidity, and locker room environments
- Use of personal protective equipment as required.
