Key responsibilities
- Fabricate, repair, and maintain heavy mining equipment and site structures
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to guide welding and fabrication
- Perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment, including haul trucks, dozers, loaders, and conveyors
- Grind, gouge, and repair cracks in heavy-duty components like shovel buckets and dozer blades
- Conduct inspections to ensure the quality and integrity of welds
- Adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs and policies
- Use various welding processes, such as FCAW (stick), GMAW (MIG),
- Work with other tradespeople to complete maintenance and repair projects
- Assist with preventative maintenance and cleanup of work areas
Essential skills and qualifications
