Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of sales floors, restrooms, break areas, stockrooms, and other designated spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to ensure a polished appearance
- Handle trash removal and recycling duties efficiently to keep the environment tidy and sanitary
- Conduct routine custodial inspections to identify areas needing attention and promptly address them
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or minor repairs to support overall facilities upkeep
- Follow safety protocols and proper cleaning procedures to ensure a hazard-free environment for everyone
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize cleaning tasks during store hours or after hours as needed
Qualifications
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, retail, or industrial settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and waxing surfaces
- Familiarity with cleaning tools and supplies such as vacuums, mops, buffers, and cleaning chemicals
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently independently or as part of a team
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift
- Basic understanding of safety standards related to cleaning chemicals and equipment use
- Experience with facilities maintenance or Porter roles is a plus
