Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections of trailers, including brakes, suspension, axles, tires, lighting, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and technical manuals.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, shocks & struts, and electrical systems.
- Conduct fabrication work as needed for custom modifications or repairs on trailers and heavy equipment.
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely and efficiently during maintenance tasks.
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, disassemble, repair, or replace parts with precision.
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed and ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a mechanic in dealership settings or heavy equipment repair environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive systems including transmissions, suspensions, HVAC systems, and diesel engines.
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and diagnostic procedures for automotive electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with heavy truck repair, trailer maintenance, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and service technician roles.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts safely and effectively.
- Skilled in welding, soldering, tire service, alignment work, and hydraulic system repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service experience to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
