Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all equipment and maintains the building and grounds using various tools and machinery to keep equipment in good working condition and to provide a safe environment for all associates. This position has an emphasis on consumables and overall responsibilities related to the Maintenance Shop.

Qualifications

Performs maintenance and flushing out of ink cartridges for the Proteus Jets and assist in the inventory, storage, and disposition of the cartridges.  Maintains PIV batteries throughout the facility and the Harris warehouse. Constructs or repairs equipment using various tools and machines to keep equipment in good working condition. Responsible for purchasing card and receipt tracking  authorizing maintain inventory sourcing suppliers assign stock codes.  Sweep and clean shop area as needed.

• Pick up parts, supplies as needed for the facility.
• Assist in preparing waste drums, spent light bulbs for Safety-Kleen.
• Performs plumbing, general carpentry, and electrical duties using various tools and machines to safely upgrade, modify, and repair plant equipment.
• Maintains the building and grounds by removing snow, running the sprinkler system, and monitoring the HVAC (Heating and air conditioning system) to provide a clean and comfortable work environment for all associates.
• Trains associates using acquired skill and job knowledge to educate all shop personnel and to keep them updated on the latest equipment and machinery.
• May include other duties as assigned.
• Mechanical and electrical education from a trade school or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with a working knowledge of electricity and machine shop equipment (lathes, mills, drills, saws, measuring tools and welders).
• Working knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, electricity and plumbing. forklift certified preferred.

Additional Information

• The pay range for this role at the noted location is $19.38 to $27.00 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
