Job Title: Manager, Global Membership and Chapters
Status: Temp-to-Permanent
Hours: Full-time, M-F
Hybrid Status: Three days remote/ two days in the office (Tuesday and Wednesday)
Office Location: Washington, DC
Hourly Pay During Temporary Period: $23.00 – $30.00 depending on experience
Annual Salary When Permanent: $75,000 – $85,000 plus exceptional comprehensive benefits package
JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Global Membership and Chapters supports the Membership and Chapters Department at the international level, with a focus on Canada, Latin America, and the EMEA region. Core responsibilities include executing membership growth and retention campaigns, supporting international Chapters in meeting compliance requirements, and implementing initiatives to increase global member engagement. This role reports to the Senior Director, Membership Initiatives & Chapters and works a hybrid schedule based in the Washington, DC office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Senior Director in executing membership growth and retention campaigns for international chapters in Canada, the EMEA region, and Latin America. Set defined targets, track delivery against those targets, and report results to the Senior Director monthly. Analyze campaign results against established growth goals and present findings with recommended strategy adjustments. Conduct a structured analysis of existing membership materials and retention rates and deliver a written summary of findings within the first 60 days. Create and update membership and marketing materials, including emails, newsletters, webpages, event announcements, welcome packets, fact sheets, and surveys.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from members and prospective members.
- Liaise directly with chapter leaders to address general concerns and challenges, increase membership growth and retention, and work on chapter governance-related issues.
- Liaise with PAC staff to improve cross-border communication, knowledge-sharing, and synergy. This includes providing new technology updates and assisting with global promotion of international conferences.
- Provide assistance and orientation training to any new international Chapter Administrators.
- Generate prospect leads in the above regions by maintaining strategic partnerships with key regional stakeholders by collecting direct leads, utilizing event registration reports and social media, conducting research on new membership opportunities, and promoting membership via partnerships or third-party affiliates.
- Serve as the liaison for service inquiriesfrom members, prospective members, staff, international in-house/bar associations, and other third-party groups in Canada, Latin America and the EMEA region.
- Support new and developing non-US chapters with event planning and logistics.
- Prepare and update competitive analysis on conferences and services offered by competing membership organizations.
- Liaise with the Corporate Membership team to ensure international chapters are kept informed about acquisitions, renewals, and cancellations.
- Research relevant technology platforms and coordinate with IT to on evaluation and onboarding for membership and chapter operations..
- Perform additional duties directly related to the Membership and Chapters Department as assigned by the Senior Director.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in international business, communication, marketing, or related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in membership, marketing, or program management. Preferably in a professional association with chapter structure.
- Experience working within an office environment and working with a diverse customer base.
- Having worked outside the US is a plus.

- Must possess a customer service-oriented demeanor and mature, solutions-oriented approach to problems/conflict.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite/Outlook, database management (Salesforce preferred), social media, event and marketing platforms, graphic design tools, and website content management systems. Adept at learning new technology.
- Superb oral and written communication skills.
- Able to demonstrate good judgment, critical thinking skills, and a sense of teamwork and community.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently but demonstrates good judgment to inform and/or seek guidance from superiors as situations may warrant.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, vendors, and the public.
