What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Shop Manager Assistant position at RPM-PSI?
Essential Functions:
· Manages a team responsible for production or assembly of presses, lathes, grinders, pumps, compressors, or other machines.
· Purchases or acquires raw materials or components as needed.
· Ensures that output of parts or equipment meets established production schedules or quality goals.
· Loads, checks and runs tooling and programs to very precise tolerances.
· Performs in-process inspection and documents results.
· Monitors and maintains tooling during job run.
· Other duties as required.
Marginal Functions:
Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles. Performs complex tasks typically following established processes. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions. Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures but may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.

· Indoors in normal manufacturing environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, and fumes.
· Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.

Primary environment: Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. Industrial lighting provided.
