Retail Staff Pharmacist – Buckeye, WV (12-Week Contract)
We are seeking a Retail Staff Pharmacist for a 12-week contract opportunity with a hospital-owned community pharmacy in Buckeye, West Virginia. This position is available to start as soon as possible and will provide coverage for a medical leave beginning September 8th.
The client is highly motivated to identify a local pharmacist within the next two weeks and would like the selected candidate to begin as quickly as possible.
Term of Assignment:
- 12-week contract assignment
- Start date: September 8, 2026 (earlier onboarding available)
Schedule:
- Approximately 20 hours per week
- Preferred schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday
- Client is flexible if alternate days are needed
- Shift: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- 30-minute lunch break included
- 10-hour shifts
Practice Setting:
- Hospital-owned retail pharmacy
- Approximately 4,000 prescriptions per month
- Pharmacy management system: PioneerRx
- Community-focused environment serving patients and hospital visitors
Job Duties:
- Direct daily retail pharmacy operations
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Verify prescriptions and ensure safe, accurate medication dispensing
- Manage pharmacy inventory, medication stock, and formulary maintenance
- Maintain compliance with controlled substance regulations and documentation requirements
- Oversee 340B program administration and compliance activities
- Manage pharmacy billing processes, claims submission, and reconciliation
- Utilize pharmacy software and EHR systems to support operations
- Contribute to workflow optimization and quality improvement initiatives
- Administer immunizations as needed
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted West Virginia pharmacist license
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy program
- PharmD preferred but not required
- Current CPR certification
- Active immunization certification
- PioneerRx experience preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
