A direct hire opportunity is available for a full-time Infusion Pharmacist skilled in sterile compounding and pharmacy practice. This role is based in Oakland, CA, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on-call duties every third weekend. Candidates with prior experience in infusion pharmacy are highly preferred, though those with specialty pharmacy backgrounds will also be considered.
This position involves delivering clinical pharmacy services focused on chronic and acute infusion therapies. The pharmacist will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-touch patient care and oversee pharmacy production operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Compounding, dispensing, and clinically monitoring therapies prescribed by authorized medical personnel.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Supervising pharmacy technicians and support personnel to maintain quality standards.
- Collaborating across departments such as nursing, admissions, reimbursement, and sales to optimize patient outcomes and service efficiency.
- Participating actively in quality assurance and performance improvement efforts.
- Assisting in training new pharmacy staff and serving as a preceptor for pharmacy interns when needed.
- Providing clinical expertise to sales and marketing teams, including support with presentations and marketing materials review.
- Supporting procurement and inventory control policies within the pharmacy.
- Contributing to corporate clinical services initiatives and product selection committees as appropriate.
- Ensuring insurance authorizations align with pharmacy dispensing and supporting reimbursement audits.
- Participating in on-call rotations to maintain continuous pharmacy support.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records compliant with state and federal requirements for controlled substances.
- Demonstrating knowledge and adherence to USP 797, USP 800, and current State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with active licensure.
- Experience in infusion pharmacy preferred; specialty pharmacy experience also considered.
