Position Details:
- Location: Owosso, MI
- Schedule: 7 on, 7 off; Wednesday through Tuesday, 7 PM to 7 AM
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with potential for direct hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify physician medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
- Initiate and monitor pharmacy dosing service medications, providing follow-up dosing as needed
- Review and check the work performed by pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance and safety standards
- Perform standard hospital pharmacy duties, encompassing inpatient care requirements
- Operate within an environment supported by Cerner order entry and Omnicell automation systems
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Michigan pharmacy license required
- Proven hospital pharmacy experience, particularly in inpatient settings
- Skilled in sterile compounding preparation and verification
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical records and Omnicell automation systems highly desirable
- Ability to work independently overnight hours, especially when covering 1 AM to 6 AM without pharmacist support staff
Support Environment:
- Collaboration with 2 pharmacy technicians during assigned shifts
- Solo pharmacist coverage during early morning hours, ensuring critical oversight and decision-making
