RP Pro Services is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with deep commercial lending expertise to support the SBA’s Office of Capital Risk Management (OCRM). This individual will play a critical role in evaluating complex loan transactions, assessing borrower creditworthiness, and supporting policy oversight for SBA’s 7(a) and 504 loan programs. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in commercial credit analysis, familiarity with small business financing structures, and the ability to synthesize financial data into actionable guidance for federal stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

Commercial Loan Review & Credit Risk Analysis

  • Analyze high-dollar and complex commercial loan applications, including new originations, refinancing, and restructuring requests.
  • Evaluate financial statements, tax returns, pro forma projections, business plans, collateral packages, and repayment structures.
  • Identify credit risks, debt service capacity, and cash flow dynamics across a variety of business types and industries.
  • Determine borrower and project eligibility under SBA’s 7(a), 504, and other capital access programs.
  • Recommend appropriate loan terms and risk mitigants based on creditworthiness and compliance with SBA policy.

Data Review & Reporting

  • Analyze large and diverse datasets using Excel and Power BI to identify trends and key insights.
  • Develop and generate high-quality, ad hoc financial reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interpret and explain data trends and performance scenarios in ways that are easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with SBA analysts to ensure data accuracy and consistency in reporting deliverables.

Team Collaboration & Quality Control

  • Work closely with other analysts to review report quality and ensure high analytical standards.
  • Participate in internal reviews to maintain strong data integrity and improve pipeline visibility.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for financial data interpretation and loan performance evaluation.

Client & Executive Communication

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to SBA stakeholders, including C-Suite and program leadership.
  • Clearly communicate complex financial scenarios and policy impacts in briefings, reports, and visual presentations.
  • 9 years of experience in commercial lending, credit risk, or commercial underwriting.
  • Strong background in analyzing a broad range of small business financial statements and collateral types.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing executive-level financial reports, dashboards, and written assessments.
  • Deep knowledge of SBA’s loan programs or a comparable federal credit program.
  • Familiarity with financial risk management principles and federal loan processing standards.

 

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and modeling).
  • Experience with Power BI, SharePoint, or similar data visualization/reporting tools.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and presenting financial reports or audit findings.
  • Ability to confidently present and explain financial scenarios to C-suite executives or large internal groups.
  • Familiarity with federal loan systems (e.g., E-Tran, LMS) is a plus.

  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to manage workload pipeline with minimal oversight.
  • Comfortable working under pressure while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and detail.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with a sense of ownership and pride in the quality of work delivered.
  • Collaborative team player willing to contribute to cross-functional success.

Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000

The salary range for this role considers a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, skill sets, equity, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
