Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Pipeline Mapper to support pipeline infrastructure projects through high-quality mapping, surveying, and drafting deliverables. This role requires advanced technical expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Skyline, and ArcGIS Pro, along with strong leadership and coordination skills. The ideal candidate will lead mapping efforts, maintain data integrity, and ensure compliance with municipal and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate pipeline mapping projects, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all mapping outputs
- Develop alignment sheets, plat exhibits, permit drawings, and route maps for pipeline projects
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, Skyline, and ArcGIS Pro to produce and review mapping documentation
- Collaborate with engineering, surveying, and GIS teams to collect, validate, and integrate project data
- Manage and maintain pipeline mapping and GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
- Implement and improve mapping, survey, and GIS workflows and standards
- Establish best practices for data collection, documentation, and quality control
- Train and mentor junior team members on mapping standards, software usage, and QA/QC procedures
- Communicate project progress, risks, and resolutions with internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in pipeline surveying, mapping, and drafting
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Skyline, and ArcGIS Pro
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities
- Experience with database management related to pipeline or GIS data
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with GIS database integration and maintenance
- Familiarity with municipal permitting processes and pipeline regulatory requirements
- Background in process improvement and standardization of mapping workflows
