This role involves handling high-volume transactions, vendor management, and supporting audits, all while contributing to the efficiency of the manufacturing operations.
Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities
- Process and verify invoices related to raw materials, equipment, and other manufacturing expenses.
- Reconcile accounts payable balances in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to resolve discrepancies in purchase orders and invoices.
- Manage vendor relationships, including onboarding, compliance checks, and timely payments.
- Monitor and process multi-currency transactions for international suppliers.
- Prepare and issue 1099 forms and other tax-related documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Analyze outstanding payments and implement strategies to optimize cash flow.
- Train and mentor junior accounts payable staff on manufacturing-specific processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including sales tax and VAT requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, general bookkeeping, and tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle high volumes of transactions and meet tight deadlines.
Experience (type and amount of experience required):
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Will spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Is occasionally required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, and communicate effectively by talking or hearing.
- Must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
