Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Masonry Worker to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various masonry techniques, including concrete forming, rebar installation, and concrete finishing. This role involves working on diverse projects such as residential, commercial, and restoration sites, contributing to the creation of durable and aesthetically pleasing structures. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of construction practices, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools. Responsibilities
- Construct, repair, and restore structures using brick, stone, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution
- Mix and apply mortar or concrete according to specifications
- Install rebar and other reinforcement materials to strengthen structures
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely and efficiently on-site
- Perform finishing work such as plastering, caulking, and tile laying to achieve desired surface quality
- Assist with renovation projects including restoration work and framing
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope
Skills
- Proficiency in concrete forming, concrete finishing, and stucco application
- Experience with rebar installation, metal stud framing, and drywall installation
- Ability to operate hand tools (trowels, chisels) and power tools (drills, saws) effectively
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution
- Skilled in plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, roofing, and tile laying
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation relevant to masonry work
- Strong understanding of construction estimating processes
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety protocols
- Ability to adapt to different tasks such as renovation or restoration projects
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
