Job is Sundays - Thursdays between 10pm - 2am.
A gym cleaning technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe fitness facility by cleaning and disinfecting equipment, floors, and locker rooms, as well as restocking supplies and managing waste. Key duties include sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces, emptying trash, and ensuring restrooms and locker rooms are clean and stocked with supplies like soap and paper towels. This role is crucial for creating a positive member experience and often involves working during off-peak hours.
Key responsibilities
- Sanitation: Clean and disinfect all fitness equipment, high-touch surfaces, and workout areas.
- Floor care: Sweep, mop, and vacuum all hard floors and carpets throughout the facility.
- Locker room and restroom cleaning: Deep clean and sanitize toilets, showers, sinks, and mirrors, and restock all necessary supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.
- Waste management: Empty all trash cans and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal.
- Restocking: Replenish consumable items like paper towels, hand sanitizer, and cleaning supplies.
- Equipment maintenance: Report any broken or missing equipment to management. Some roles may also perform basic maintenance or repairs.
- General upkeep: Dust surfaces, clean windows and mirrors, and maintain the cleanliness of the front entrance and other common areas.
- Lost and found: Follow the gym's policy for handling lost and found items.
- MUST BE ABLE TO USE AND OPERATE BACK PACK VAC.
Essential skills and qualifications
- Attention to detail: Crucial for ensuring all areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained.
- Time management: Must be able to complete all tasks efficiently, especially during shifts with limited staff or member presence.
- Independence: Often requires the ability to work independently and manage a workload with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina: The job requires standing, walking, reaching, and performing physical cleaning tasks for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality: Essential for showing up to assigned shifts and completing duties.
- Customer service: While primarily a cleaning role, some positions may require basic interaction with members and staff.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have Janitorial Cleaning Experience of at least 3 years
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
