As the Director of Staff Development (LVN), you will play a critical leadership role in supporting daily operations and staff success. This position oversees new hire orientation, staffing coordination, employee training, and infection prevention, while helping ensure our behavioral health staff are prepared to provide safe and effective care.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation for all direct care staff
- Manage scheduling and staffing needs for Behavioral Specialists/Mental Health Workers
- Maintain staffing coverage and assist with staffing plans
- Oversee employee training and competency tracking
- Maintain employee files and required compliance documentation
- Support regulatory readiness and staff education requirements
- Lead infection prevention and control program activities
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to direct care staff
- Assist leadership with staff performance development
- Help maintain a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
What We Are Looking For
- Current, active LVN license in the state
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Experience coordinating staff or supporting operations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with staff training or orientation
- Working knowledge of infection control practices
- Behavioral health or psychiatric experience
- Supervisory or leadership experience
- Infection Prevention experience or certification
- Experience with PointClickCare or similar EMR
- Experience with scheduling or workforce coordination
