Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to transport freight across designated routes
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery receipts
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies to prevent accidents and ensure secure deliveries
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and any issues encountered on the road
- Assist with securing loads on flatbeds or other specialized trailers as required
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements for manual transmission operation and specific vehicle types (e.g., tanker, flatbed)
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery route driving and load & unload operations
- Familiarity with operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is highly desirable
- Ability to handle freight securely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when required
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles preferred but not mandatory if willing to learn
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance
