Position Overview
As a Truck Upfit Specialist, you’ll be responsible for installing and customizing equipment packages on work vehicles to meet the specific needs of each customer. This hands-on position involves mechanical assembly, wiring, fabrication, and accessory installation. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install a variety of truck upfit components including flatbeds, dump bodies, service bodies, work truck bodies, lift gates, heavy-duty truck boxes, crane systems, toolboxes, lighting, and other heavy-duty accessories
- Read and follow work orders, technical drawings, and installation instructions accurately
- Use hand and power tools to perform installations, modifications, and repairs
- Perform fabrication work such as cutting, drilling, grinding, welding, and component assembly as needed
- Assist with electrical system integration including lighting and hydraulic components
- Ensure installations meet quality, safety, and functional standards
- Inspect all completed work for accuracy, durability, and customer specifications
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
- Communicate effectively with team leads and supervisors regarding progress, delays, or material needs
- Support productivity goals and contribute to a collaborative team culture
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in truck upfitting, fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, or a closely related trade required
- Ability to read and interpret installation instructions, diagrams, and basic wiring schematics
- Proficient in using power tools, welding equipment, and shop machinery
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on/under trucks as needed
- Valid driver’s license required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Work Schedule
- Full-time, Monday to Friday (Day Shift)

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $23.00 – $30.00 per hour, based on experience
