Position Overview:

The Royal Treatment Veterinary Center (RTVC) is seeking a highly organized, enthusiastic Operations Manager to lead our team and oversee day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in HR and financial management alongside skill in developing company policies, managing staff schedules, evaluating operational and financial performance, and identifying opportunities for practice growth and client development – working closely with our doctors, managers, and practice owner to meet shared goals.

A key part of this role involves improving and maintaining effective training programs across all positions – veterinarians, technicians, animal care specialists, receptionists, facilities personnel, interns, and volunteers. The Operations Manager will also serve as a primary point of contact for client relations and practice performance assessment.

This is a highly people-oriented position that requires a clear understanding of our animal patients’ needs and a commitment to excellent, thoughtful care. As a frequent face of RTVC, we are looking for someone who communicates with confidence, empathy, and professionalism while remaining grounded and approachable.

  • Collaborate regularly with practice owner, staff doctors, managers, and staff to align operations with practice goals
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate financial and operational performance by service, staff member, pricing, timing, location, inventory, date, appointment efficiency, treatment outcomes, and other parameters
  • Oversee and manage inventory, income, cost of goods, payroll, outreach, and marketing activities with a view toward improving the financial landscape for the practice
  • Develop executive strategies to support and implement excellent budgeting, financial reporting, financial health, and operational efficiency – driving practice long-term stability and growth
  • Support the transition toward an employee-owned ownership model

HR & Team Leadership

  • Lead hiring and integration of new team members
  • Improve, build and maintain effective training programs and standard operating procedures across all roles
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, make decisions on wages, provide constructive feedback, and support staff development and growth
  • Resolve HR issues constructively, maintaining a positive and mission-aligned team culture
  • Oversee staff scheduling and team coordination to support smooth clinic operations

Client Relations

  • Serve as primary client-facing contact, handling concerns with professionalism and care
  • Actively solicit and respond to client feedback on service quality and satisfaction
  • Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with staff, clients, patients, and the community

Qualifications:

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly; adaptability is essential
  • Demonstrated experience in HR functions including hiring, performance management, and team development
  • Comfort with financial reporting, budgeting, and basic business metrics
  • Understanding of the financial pressures and solutions in a veterinary practice
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Genuine love of animals, and a practical, sensible approach to their care
  • Enthusiasm for a mission-driven, patient-centered practice and ability to inspire others towards self-improvement and success
  • Prior experience in a veterinary clinic, animal care facility, or similar healthcare setting is strongly preferred, though not required.
  • Candidates with strong operational instincts and a proven ability to learn quickly will be given serious consideration
