Key Responsibilities
- Set up, start up, and optimize injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform mold changes, tooling adjustments, and machine parameter setup.
- Troubleshoot molding processes, machine issues, and quality defects.
- Monitor cycle times, scrap rates, downtime, and machine efficiency.
- Make processing adjustments to improve productivity and product quality.
- Ensure molds, machines, and equipment are operating safely and efficiently.
- Work closely with production supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams.
- Verify first-piece approvals and maintain quality standards throughout production runs.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and basic machine maintenance.
- Document process settings, downtime events, and production performance.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas following GMP and food-safe manufacturing standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and process consistency.
- Train operators on proper machine operation and quality expectations when needed.
- Respond quickly to production issues to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- 2 years of injection molding processing or technician experience preferred.
- Experience with mold setup, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production documents, and quality standards.
- Understanding of plastics processing principles and molding parameters.
- Forklift and crane experience is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
