About the Role:
We’re looking for a Certified HERS Rater to join our growing team! In this role, you'll perform field inspections, diagnostic testing, and submit documentation in compliance with California energy codes and utility rebate programs. You’ll work with builders, homeowners, and contractors to ensure homes meet energy efficiency standards. You will also assist with ladders and inspections after HERS testing is completed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site inspections and HERS tests (e.g., duct leakage, blower door, refrigerant charge).
- Complete and upload reports using CHEERS .
- Communicate test results and compliance requirements clearly on our portal for contractors to review
- Coordinate schedules with the internal team and field appointments.
- Ensure all work aligns with Title 24 and HERS protocols.
Requirements:
- Active HERS Rater Certification (CalCERTS or CHEERS)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage field schedule
- Basic tech skills (tablet/laptop use, data entry, printing)
Nice to Have:
- Experience with SMUD or other utility rebate programs
- HVAC knowledge or background in energy efficiency services
