Lute Raker

Royal Pavement Solutions is seeking an experienced Lute Raker to join our growing team.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in producing exceptional workmanship and wants to build a long-term career with Long Island's leading paving contractor. Every project we complete represents our reputation, and our Lute Rakers play a critical role in delivering the smooth, professional finishes our customers have come to expect.

As a Lute Raker, you'll work alongside experienced paving crews on commercial paving projects throughout Long Island and the surrounding area. You'll be responsible for hand-finishing asphalt behind the paver, maintaining clean joints and transitions, and ensuring every project meets our quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and pride in producing high-quality work.

What You'll Do

• Hand rake and finish asphalt behind the paver.
• Match joints, seams, and transitions to create a smooth finished surface.
• Handwork around structures, utilities, curb lines, and other obstacles.
• Assist with paving operations while maintaining proper material flow and mat appearance.
• Work closely with the paver operator, roller operator, and crew members to achieve a quality finished product.
• Identify and correct minor imperfections before final compaction.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
• Follow all company safety procedures.
• Represent Royal Pavement Solutions professionally on every project.

Required Qualifications

• Experience working as a Lute Raker on commercial asphalt paving projects.
• Strong understanding of paving operations and asphalt placement.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to report to our yard each day.
• Ability to work overtime, nights, and occasional weekends during the paving season.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with commercial parking lots, roadways, and municipal paving.
• Valid Driver's License.
• OSHA 10 Certification.
