Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using various accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure consistency across all financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings while ensuring adherence to relevant governmental regulations.
- Support budgeting activities and provide insights through account analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
- Handle tax-related tasks, including preparation of tax documents and maintaining compliance with applicable laws.
- Perform month-end closing procedures, including reconciling accounts and preparing audit documentation when necessary.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and non-profit accounting practices.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and public accounting procedures.
- Expertise in double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Familiarity with financial concepts including GAAP compliance, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax experience related to payroll taxes and filings.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for account reconciliation and general ledger management.
