Job Function
Act as the principal contact between the customer, the repairing technician, and the parts department on sales and service of the mechanical repair or maintenance of customers vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a timely and friendly manner
- Complete walk around procedure with customer
- Provide fast, efficient and courteous service to customer by interpreting their requests, scheduling, and coordinating the diagnosis an repair of their vehicle
- Present each customer with the dealerships suggested maintenance menu while providing accurate and honest advice to customers on recommended services for the care of their vehicles
- Explain technical information about repair to customers in a clear, concise, and professional manner
- Provide accurate cost and time estimates when discussing the customers concern

Qualifications for Service Advisor
- Working knowledge and experience of automotive products, repairs and parts
- Secondary education in the automotive field or equivalent work experience
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate customer needs to workable technician orders
- Basic knowledge of computer programs including word processing and database tools
- Organizational skills including the ability to schedule appointments, meet with customers and ensure that work is done properly
- Exceptional customer service skills based on experience
- Continuing education and knowledge acquisition on the function and repair of newer vehicles
- Basic mathematics skills to prepare and process bills and customer payment
- Ability to communicate complicated automotive processes to customers who may only have basic automotive knowledge
