Royal ISD is seeking qualified, student-centered staff to support our Secondary Summer School Program. We are committed to providing meaningful summer learning opportunities that help students strengthen academic skills, recover credits, prepare for assessments, and transition successfully into the upcoming school year.

Program Dates
- Staff PD and Work Days: May 27–28, 2026
- Student Instruction: Monday–Thursday, June 1–25, 2026
Available Positions:
Middle School (Grades 6–8)
- 6th Grade Reading/Math – 4 units
- 7th Grade Reading/Math – 4 units
- 8th Grade Reading/Math – 4 units
- ESL Newcomers – 1 unit
- ICS Support Aides – 2 positions
High School (EOC/Credit Recovery/Support Programs)
EOC Failures
- English I – 2 units
- English II – 2 units
- Algebra I – 3 units
- U.S. History – 1 unit
- Biology – 1 unit
- ESL Newcomers – 1 unit
Credit Recovery
- Credit Recovery Teachers – 2 positions
ECHS Dual Credit
- Support/Sections – 2 positions
TSIA Prep/Support
- 1 Teacher – 3 days
Summer Bridge
- 3 Teachers – 4 days
ICS Support Aides
- 2 Positions
Primary Purpose
To provide targeted academic instruction and support for secondary students during the summer program in order to address learning gaps, support promotion and graduation requirements, strengthen assessment readiness, and prepare students for success in the upcoming school year.
Qualifications
- Valid Texas teaching certificate appropriate for assignment
- ESL certification required for ESL Newcomer positions
- Experience working with middle school and/or high school students
- Ability to plan and deliver focused instruction aligned to student needs
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with campus and district staff
Expectations
Selected staff members will be expected to:
- Provide effective instruction and intervention in assigned content areas
- Maintain accurate attendance and student progress records
- Support a positive and structured learning environment
- Participate in required planning, training, and program procedures
- Follow all Royal ISD expectations, board policies, and summer school guidelines
