**Cheer Coach Stipend**
Primary Purpose:
The Teacher Interventionist provides targeted academic intervention and instructional support to students who require additional assistance in reading, literacy, and core academic areas, including students identified with dyslexia and related disorders. The interventionist collaborates with teachers, administrators, parents, and support staff to improve student achievement, close learning gaps, and ensure compliance with state and district requirements related to dyslexia services and intervention support.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas teaching certification
Dyslexia certification/training preferred (e.g., MTA, CALT, LETRS, Take Flight, or equivalent)
ESL certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Experience working with secondary students in intervention, special education, or literacy support
Knowledge of dyslexia characteristics, intervention strategies, and progress monitoring
Experience using data-driven instructional practices
Experience:
Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support
- Provide small-group and individualized intervention instruction for students identified with dyslexia and other literacy-related learning needs
- Implement evidence-based dyslexia programs and reading interventions aligned with district and state guidelines
- Support student growth in reading fluency, comprehension, spelling, writing, and phonological awareness
- Assist students in developing academic strategies, organization skills, and confidence
Collaboration
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align interventions with grade-level curriculum and student goals
- Participate in ARD, MTSS/RTI, Section 504, and intervention meetings as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and intervention plans
- Work closely with counselors, diagnosticians, dyslexia specialists, and administrators to support student success
Data & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, intervention logs, and assessment data
- Monitor student performance and adjust instructional strategies based on data analysis
- Ensure compliance with district procedures and Texas Education Agency dyslexia requirements
- Assist with screening, identification, and progress monitoring processes
Campus Support
- Support campus-wide literacy initiatives and academic intervention programs
- Provide instructional strategies and resources to teachers serving struggling learners
- Participate in professional development and ongoing training related to dyslexia and intervention best practices
- Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes student achievement and growth
Other
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

Direct the work of assigned instructional aide(s), if assigned.
