This teacher will see approximately 145 students between 4 sections of Principles of Cosmetology and 3 sections of Interpersonal Studies.

Job Title: Teacher – High School: Cosmetology CTE Teacher
Reports to: Director of Career and Technical Education
Duty Days: 183 Days
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Pay Grade: Teacher Salary
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Possess or be eligible for a valid teaching certificate for Trade and Industrial Education: Grades 6-12 teaching certificate plus Valid Cosmetology Operator license or Class A Barber Operator license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Primary Purpose:
Work with CTE students, teachers, parents, community partners, and Director of Career and Technical Education to implement and manage the RHS Cosmetology courses and other Career and Technical Education courses within the framework of the goals and policy established by local, state, and federal statutes.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Teach multiple CTE courses as assigned on campus.
2. Be willing to attend certification classes and professional development opportunities (i.e.-TIVA, CTAT conference) as deemed necessary by district leadership.
3. Develop and support student leadership organizational efforts.
4. Coordinate SLO (Student Leadership Organization) activities (SkillsUSA).
5. Work with multiple teachers and administrators both at the campus and district level.
6. Interact effectively with the Royal ISD CTE Advisory Committee.
7. Maintain accurate and complete records of programs and projects as required by law, district policy, or administrative regulations.
8. Exhibit and encourage high professional and ethical standards.
9. Support, communicate, and interpret district goals, policies, procedures, and directives to the staff under his/her direction and supervise their implementation.
10. Professionally communicate and interpret district goals, policies, administrative procedures, and TEA regulations to the various public.
11. Maintain a positive image of the school by involving community members, business and industry, and agencies in a supportive role.
12. Attend local, district, area, and state CTE teachers’ meetings as scheduled.
13. Submit necessary forms in a timely manner- including, but not limited to travel, student trip forms, itineraries, project visitations, etc.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Computer, scanner, copier, overhead projector, Adobe software, DVD player, other specialized equipment that is particularly unique to the teaching assignment.
