What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Hygienist (Part-time) position at Royal Family Dental?
Small private dental office located in Simi Valley, looking for a detail oriented and ambitious Dental Hygienist 2 days a week - Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday.
Our office highly focuses on patient centered care.
**Must have current RDH license in CA.
Experience a plus but will gladly consider a new graduate to come and learn with us. We would love to help you create your future.
Responsibilities
- Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
- Sterilize dental instruments properly
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
- Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
- Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
- Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
- Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
- Take X-rays
- Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
- Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
- Monitor supplies
