Talented college sophomores are provided with first-hand experience and the opportunity to participate in our premier ten-week paid summer internship program at our office in Jersey City. In addition to internship compensation, students are eligible to receive a $3,000 relocation stipend before the start of their first internship, and a $15,000 financial award at the start of their second internship; additional terms to be communicated to successful candidates.
What will you do?
While working and learning alongside our experienced technical professionals, Summer Analysts are given responsibility over a key project delivery advancing our Capital Markets technology strategy. RBC Capital Markets Technology department promotes and innovative and collaborative work environment for Summer Analysts. Analysts will work in a project team setting with the guidance and support from RBC Capital Markets’ lead architects and technologists to design, develop, and implement in-demand tools and services. Summer Analysts will also have dedicated sessions with business-aligned technology leads to develop their understanding of Technology’s role in supporting RBC’s clients through our trading activities, and providing exposure to the products and services offered by our Investment Bank. Additionally, the program includes planned events to network and get to know your colleagues across the Capital Markets space, outside of the workplace.
You cannot get any closer to the action than RBC Capital Markets! Summer Analysts have the opportunity to gain experience in one of the different areas of capital markets working alongside experienced Technology professionals.

What do you need to succeed?
We seek competitive individuals who possess the energy, enthusiasm and capacity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Successful candidates are selected based on their level of interest in Technology, general market knowledge, academic excellence, and strong communication skills. Candidates need to be confident in their personal capabilities, but willing to learn and do what it takes to complete a task.
Each candidate will be evaluated on their individual merit; however, it is a definite asset to possess the following qualifications:
Proven interest in financial markets
History of academic excellence
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Preferably pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering , or Mathematics
Knowledge/experience and interest in one more of the following areas a plus:
Programming- Knowledge of Python, Java, C#, C/C a plus for development assignments. Proficiency with an application framework such as .Net, J2EE. Middleware programming; Perl or/and Shell scripting.
Database- working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL Databases
Network Administration- Linux, Unix Administration
Financial Business Analysis- Strong financial acumen, ability to gather general business and technical requirements
Business Analysis - Requirements gathering and program management
Eligibility
You graduate between December 2025 and June 2026
You are a full-time undergraduate student currently enrolled at a U.S. college or university who identifies as Black, African American, Hispanic, Latinx, and/or Native American.
You are able to join us as a Summer Analyst the summer after your Sophomore year
You are able to return the summer after your Junior year, providing performance feedback from Sophomore year summer is strong
You are passionate about pursuing a full-time career in Technology in Capital Markets
