What will you do?
- Help develop and implement the team’s business development plan, cultivate the assigned territory, and foster new relationships to drive sales.
- Assist the sales team on territory support, maintain up-to-date research on target markets/sectors utilizing industry databases to research and define selling opportunities around specific market segments.
- Submit RFP requests and ensure RFP/DDQs are customized to fit the prospects’ needs and completed and delivered in a timely manner; Work closely with Marketing to leverage the firm’s intellectual capital and present our thought leadership to prospects and clients.
- Develop a successful targeted email communication plan to prospects and analyze the e-distribution data to support a focused selling effort and work with the Institutional Sales team to ensure timely and accurate information on institutional sales prospects is in the firm’s CRM.
- Manage responses to prospect and client inquiries (e.g. quarterly questionnaires, RFI’s, RFPs, sales reports, marketing campaigns, due diligence analysis, etc.) for all strategies.
- Establish regional and market segment specific email distribution lists within the firm’s CRM and manage distribution lists on an ongoing basis and manage e-Distribution strategy to facilitate a targeted and focused selling effort by ensuring all contacts within the CRM are accurate and up to date.
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree required - in Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 0-4 years financial services industry (investment management and/or mutual funds) experience
- FINRA Series 7, 63, & 3 required (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Willingness to learn and be a self-starter
- Comfort with going outside “comfort zone”
Must-have
- Demonstrate drive and passion to learn the institutional sales process within the context of the broader financial services industry.
- General understanding of capital markets
Nice-to-have
- Familiarity with financial services industry
