Job Summary:
The Boardwalk Beach Resort Loss Prevention Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the daily supervision and training of Loss Prevention Officers to ensure the protection of hotel assets and the hotel and Convention Center property.
Incumbent is expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with Loss Prevention Department and Company policies and procedures, and all local, state and federal laws and regulations
- Maintain and promote a friendly atmosphere for customers and staff
- Work cooperatively with all other departments to ensure efficient Loss Prevention support services are provided as needed
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies
- Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Promote safe work practices
- Facilitate learning and development for all team members of the department
- Make frequent rounds of the hotels and observe Loss Prevention personnel engaged in their duties as well as the safety conditions of the hotel
- Investigate accidents, injuries, lost property, property damage, etc.
- Document infractions and advise management where appropriate
- Report emergencies such as fire, injuries, property damage, etc.
- Direct and/or assist with evacuations if required. Investigates and completes reports concerning the same
- Maintain good liaison with civil law enforcement agencies, fire department and other government authorities
- Recognize individuals who are observed to be engaged in criminal activity and detains these individuals until they can be turned over to law enforcement authorities. Act as company representative to law enforcement authorities
- Respond to verbal and/or physical altercations and applies or directs the appropriate measures to resolve the situation. For physical altercations, applies and/or directs the minimum amount of force necessary to restrain any and all involved
- Initiates formal evictions of disorderly persons
- Respond to and/or direct the company response to requests for medical assistance.
- Coordinate and supervise crowd control for special events; assist with cash transports within the venue
- Attend scheduled departmental training programs (CPR, AED, First-Aid, etc.) and maintain current certifications
- Perform duties of a Loss Prevention Officer, as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Professionalism, integrity & high moral standards are essential
- Must have a basic desire to protect and serve
- Must be able to deal with various levels of personality traits and maintain self-control
- Must prepare written statements and investigations in a logical and grammar correct manner
- Must be able to work any shift including weekends, night and holidays; and /or work extended hours if required
- Ability to perform job tasks indoors as well as outdoors regardless of adverse weather conditions
- Knowledge of all hotel operational areas
- Knowledge of fire safety measures, firefighting equipment and alarm systems
- Computer skills are essential to include basic knowledge of Excel, Word, etc.
- Must be able to lift 40lbs, walk, run, climb stairs, and stand for prolonged periods and able to work long hours under stressful conditions
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted
- Must be able work with a computer for a minimum of 7 hours daily either standing or sitting
- Must be able to read printed materials and computer screen with or without MS or other software accessibility functions
- Must be able to effectively communicate in e-mail, by phone, or in person during the course of the workday
