What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Preschool Teacher position at Royal Academy?
Preschool Teacher
The most important qualification for this position is a deep and sincere love of children, and the desire to help them become the best version of themselves that they can be. Our mission is to remind children of their infinite potential and to teach them life skills and values that will create a solid foundation for the rest of their lives.
As a teacher at Royal Academy, you must be able to create a loving, safe, organized, and fun environment in the classroom. You must be able to lovingly, patiently, happily, and skillfully conduct classes of up to twelve 3 to 4 year old students in multiple weekly subjects such as reading/writing, science/math, life skills/growth mindset, nutrition/cooking, art/creation, exercise/movement, and life coaching. You will rotate to subject-specific rooms with your class of assigned students 100% of the 3 hour block of time, so you will be able to truly get to know and love each of your students.
You must be comfortable with a mix of both organized lesson time and with overseeing (AND PARTICIPATING IN) a more open-ended play-based learning time. You also must feel just as comfortable discussing values as you are with teaching reading and math.
You must be able to communicate with parents professionally, cheerfully, patiently, and lovingly as well.
Direction will be given to you in regards to lesson plans, but your insight and experience will be sought after often and sincerely listened to as we constantly improve our values-based curriculum. We will respect your ideas and opinions, and work with you in a manner that demonstrates our belief that great teachers are what make great schools.
We are creating the Dream Team of preschool teachers and only want the best of the best teachers who can also work well together as a team to create a fun, kind, and friendly work atmosphere. If you are one of those teachers that parents are constantly saying their child absolutely adores and that you are the "best preschool teacher ever", then we would love to have you on our team.
Strong preference will be given to candidates that specifically have experience teaching in a preschool classroom as a Lead Teacher.
