Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Body Shop Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and diagnostics, with the ability to assess vehicle damage and provide accurate estimates for repairs. This role requires excellent customer service skills and the capacity to communicate effectively with both customers and technicians.
Duties
- Evaluate damaged vehicles and determine repair needs based on visual inspections and diagnostic tools.
- Prepare detailed estimates for repairs, including parts, labor, and any additional services required.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure accurate assessments of vehicle conditions.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair processes, timelines, and costs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, repair techniques, and parts pricing.
- Manage customer inquiries and provide exceptional service throughout the repair process.
- Document all estimates and repairs accurately in the system for record-keeping purposes.
- We also work on large trucks (dump trucks, road tractors, motor homes) as well as trailers, so general knowledge of those vehicles is a plus.
Experience
Candidates should possess:
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive systems, including shocks struts, brake repair, oil changes, air brakes, auto body repair and trailer repair.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics to accurately assess vehicle issues.
- Previous experience in a dealership or auto body shop setting is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for clients.
- Ability to transmit information clearly between customers and the repair team.
