Role Description This full-time, on-site Medical Assistant role is based at Roy David MD Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa in San Diego, CA. The Medical Assistant will support facial plastic surgery and medical spa services by preparing patients for consultations and procedures, taking vital signs, updating medical histories, and ensuring exam and procedure rooms are clean, stocked, and ready. Daily responsibilities include assisting the surgeon and clinical team during minor procedures, managing patient flow, providing pre- and post-procedure instructions, and supporting patient education with a calm and professional demeanor. The role also includes coordinating appointments, handling basic patient inquiries, and maintaining accurate documentation to support high-quality, efficient, and safe patient care. Collaboration with front office and clinical staff is essential to ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for every patient.
Qualifications
- Strong Medical Assisting skills, including rooming patients, taking vitals, and assisting with in-office procedures.
- Proficiency in Medical Terminology, particularly related to facial plastic surgery and aesthetic treatments.
- Experience in a Medical Office environment, including scheduling, coordination with front desk staff, and basic administrative support.
- Demonstrated Patient Care skills, with a focus on empathy, professionalism, privacy, and clear communication.
- Ability to maintain accurate Medical Records, including electronic health records, consent forms, and procedure documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Current Medical Assistant certification and BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Prior experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, or medical spa settings is highly beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team and provide an exceptional patient experience.
