Position Overview
As a Part-Time Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will provide compassionate, one-on-one care to Veterans in their homes or community settings. This position averages approximately 13 hours per week, making it ideal for caregivers seeking flexibility while making a lasting difference.

Responsibilities
- Assist Veterans with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including:
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Grooming
- Personal hygiene
- Provide professional companionship and emotional support
- Observe and report changes in the Veteran's physical or emotional condition
- Assist with medication reminders according to the care plan
- Light Meal Preparation (Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning)
- Light Housekeeping (Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment)
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and stand by assistance
- Support Veterans living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive or developmental conditions
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the care team
- Maintain accurate documentation while following HIPAA and agency policies
- Follow all home care safety standards and individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice, or healthcare preferred
- Experience caring for Veterans is highly valued
- Knowledge of ADLs, patient observation, and basic caregiving techniques
- Familiarity with dementia and Alzheimer's care is a plus
- Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license
- Strong communication skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently while providing exceptional client-centered care
- Understanding of HIPAA and client confidentiality
