What are the responsibilities and job description for the Content Producer position at Rowan?
About Rowan
Rowan helps buyers and sellers write their next chapter through small business succession. We guide owners through one of the most meaningful transitions of their lives, using modern tools and a deeply human approach. Our mission is straightforward: make every business handoff something both sides feel good about. The founder who built it. The leader who carries it forward.
We are a small, intentional team based in Chicago. We believe in legacy, in plain-spoken communication, and in doing work that actually matters to real people. We keep egos out. We collaborate deeply. We measure our impact in lives, not just numbers.
We are building something new in a space that has rarely been done with creativity or care. That matters to us. And we think it will matter to you.
The Role
We are looking for a Content Producer to join our team and help bring Rowan's story to life on video. This is a hands-on, creative role built for someone who loves being in the room where things happen and knows how to turn those moments into content people actually watch.
You will produce and edit our weekly podcast, The Last Bolt, from our Chicago studio and remotely. You will shoot and edit video content across formats, from structured interviews to our man-on-the-street series where we go out into Chicago and ask strangers to tell us about a small business they love. You will bring ideas to the table, pick up a camera, and see projects through from concept to published post.
This is not a "hand it off and move on" job. You own your work from start to finish.
What you will do
- Responsible for end-to-end production
- Produce The Last Bolt weekly podcast, both in person at our studio and virtually via Riverside
- Edit all video content using Adobe Premiere
- Generate fresh content ideas and bring them to the team for development
- Appear on camera as needed, including field shoots and interview-based series
- Set up and manage camera equipment, audio interfaces, and basic production gear
- Collaborate with the team to develop, shoot, and edit engaging video content
- Use scheduling tools to publish and manage content across social platforms
What we are looking for
- Proven experience producing and editing video content, ideally in a small team or agency setting
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere
- Familiarity with Riverside or similar remote recording platforms
- Comfort on camera. You do not need to be a performer, but you need to be present
- Basic production skills: camera operation, audio setup, lighting fundamentals
- Strong creative instincts and the ability to pitch ideas with conviction
- Organized, self-directed, and reliable with deadlines
- A genuine curiosity about small business and the people who build them
Why Rowan
You will not be producing content for a Fortune 500 company. You will be helping real business owners tell their stories at one of the most important moments of their lives. The work is meaningful. The team is small and collaborative. And the creative space here is genuinely wide open.
We are building a content engine for a category that has never been done with this level of craft or humanity. If that sounds like the kind of work you want to do, we want to hear from you.
