Rowan University is accepting applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty in the Respiratory Therapy Entry into Practice Program. Offering entry-level and degree-advancement programs leading to the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy, the Rowan University Respiratory Therapy program is located in the new Health Sciences Center on the campus of Rowan College of Jersey in Sewell, NJ. The entry-level and degree-advancement baccalaureate programs hold provisional accreditation by the Council on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and will enroll students beginning in the Fall 2023 term.

The Respiratory Therapy program at Rowan is administratively housed within the Rowan-Virtua School of Nursing & Health Professions. We are seeking adjunct faculty to develop and teach face-to-face courses in the Entry into Practice program at the Health Sciences Center, Rowan College of Jersey campus, in Sewell, NJ.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree in a health science or related field
  • Associate degree/equivalent or higher in respiratory therapy or at least 18 graduate credit hours in respiratory care.
  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapy credential and current state license
  • Experience in a clinical setting, particularly respiratory care

Preferred

  • Experience teaching in various classroom settings (clinical, lab, classroom, virtual)
  • Strong familiarity with and understanding of basic computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong writing and communication skills in a higher education setting
  • Previous teaching experience at the college level, and experience with developing curriculum in the field of health sciences, specifically respiratory therapy

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $1,975 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as-needed basis.
